Dottie is one of the many special needs animals rescued by UAAF each year. She was rescued from a local shelter where she had been abandoned with two badly broken legs. Shelter staff were touched by the sweet disposition of this little 8-month-old Chihuahua Mix and contacted UAAF for help. Dottie was rescued just hours before her scheduled euthanasia and placed into a volunteer foster home. Two days later, Dottie got the surgery she needed to repair her legs. After several months of rehabilitation, she was adopted to a loving home where she lives happily today with 3 other rescued dogs and a very devoted human family.
