UAAF does not have a shelter facility and relies entirely on volunteer foster homes to care for rescued animals until they are ready for adoption. Foster homes provide shelter, food, basic training, transportation to and from veterinary appointments and adoption events, and, of course, lots of love. Foster care providers also help to evaluate animals for specific behavioral and health needs and play a crucial role in helping to match rescued pets with appropriate adoptive homes. Foster homes are on the front lines of the rescue program and have a direct impact on the number of animals we are able to save.
